Sale of the above-described puppy is made subject to the following terms and conditions:

1) BREEDER guarantees the health of this puppy at the time of sale. BUYER is to take the puppy to a veterinarian within 72 hours for a get-acquainted visit and checkup. If a health problem other than described below is discovered during this visit, the BUYER is to contact the BREEDER immediately following the visit with the veterinarian, and request proper documentation from the veterinarian. Deadline for this information is within 36 hours after exam. Any health-related conditions, which are known to the BREEDER at time of sale, will be documented in writing and agreed upon before sale of said puppy. Which will be excluded from guarantee? The BREEDER does not assume any liability for any injury to said puppy after delivery.
2) This puppy is guaranteed against any hereditary conditions which affect its suitability as a pet, other than those described above.

3) BREEDER has provided this puppy with the best possible health care, grooming, and socialization, so she/he is off to a good start as a family pet. BUYER agrees to provide this puppy with proper housebreaking, ongoing socialization, and basic manners; to confine the puppy in a fenced yard or exercise it on a leash for its safety; (NOT to be tied out) to spay or neuter it at the earliest appropriate age; before the age of 1 year, (NOTE: Registration papers will be held until written documentation is provided for altering the puppy) and to provide a good quality adult food (not puppy food and not higher than 23% protein) annual medical examinations, and routine health care including vaccinations, worming, and heartworm preventative. All appropriate shots for the PUPPY'S age have been given before sale, and a record of this vaccination history is supplied to the BUYER. There are many factors that can influence growth and development, such as diet, exercise, weight gain, etc...
The BUYER assumes the responsibility to carry on with the appropriate vaccinations, exercise and feeding schedule, and diet as directed by the BREEDER.

MOST PARTICULARLY, the BUYER agrees to keep the puppy slim throughout its normal growth period, and not to overfeed OR underfeed.
The BREEDER can offer no further guarantees once the care of the puppy is no longer under their control.
Obedience classes are highly recommended, not only as a way of preventing behavior problems, but also as a means of developing good communication between dog and owner. We recommend crate training. The breeder is always available as a resource for information on training and socialization -- do not be afraid to call or email with your questions!!!

4) Should the BUYER not be able to keep this dog at any time, BUYER will return the dog to the BREEDER. This dog is NOT to be resold or given to any other party without express written permission of the BREEDER. Under no circumstances is this dog to be surrendered to an animal shelter or rescue organization. The BREEDER is always available as a safety net for the lifetime of every puppy we sell, no matter what the circumstances or how old the "puppy" may be. The BUYER agrees to notify the BREEDER of any changes of address during the PUPPY'S lifetime.
5) This puppy is sold to be a companion and family pet. Pet Danes come from the same litters as our "show prospects" and are sound, happy, healthy dogs. They may compete in obedience, and other performance events. We encourage you to look into some of these fun ways to interact with your dog, be part of the wider canine community, and make use of your Dane’s natural enthusiasm and intelligence.

Pet puppies are sold at a special pet price and are NOT to be used for breeding to add more puppies to the surplus dog population. Spaying or neutering your pet early will prevent many future health and behavior problems and give him/her a longer and healthier life. For this reason, we and other conscientious BREEDERS withhold AKC registrations until we receive proof of spay or neuter from your veterinarian, at which time we will furnish an AKC limited registration that allows your dog to compete in performance events. The BREEDER neither makes nor implies any warranties or guarantees, express or implied, other than those written in the agreement including, without limitation, the warranties of merchantability and fitness. This document constitutes the entire agreement between the Breeder and Buyer with respect to this sale. i.e. Buyer's signature below indicates that he/she has read, agrees and does understand all the conditions of the Sales Agreement and Contract of Sale.
