Some common problems, some dane owners are
faced with unfortunately. Can be prevented, or at least we can be
aware and make these situations the best we can. We go by a few
rules with our danes. They are simple and most are just plain
common sense. 1.Keep activity restricted after meals (We don't go
jogging or swimming right after we eat, so dont let them. 2.DO
NOT over feed!! 3.Advise your dane not to over drink all at once
either. Sloooow down. 4.We recommend a good average diet. No
more than 23% protein. 5.We DO NOT recommend feeding a dane puppy
any kind of puppy food. 6.Do not give supplements like Vitamin C,
they grow too fast. 7.LOTS and LOTS of LOVE and PATIENTS. They
may look big and all grown up, but they are always learning. They
are sensitive to your words and actions. Remember they learn good
and bad things from you. And sometimes big, but still a
baby. The best thing a dane owner can do is educate yourself
about Danes. Do not take one persons word alone (even a
veterinarian) talk to alot of people. The internet is a wonderful
tool for knowledge. Danes are different from other breeds, better in
my opinion. The more you know the better home you will give a
dane. Our links page has articles if you would like to read them,
about health, training, and many other things. |
